Abu Dhabi is a city full of surprises, with hidden gems waiting to be discovered around every corner. While the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and Ferrari World are must-see attractions, there’s so much more to explore beyond the tourist hotspots. As someone who has spent countless hours wandering the streets of Abu Dhabi, I’m excited to share some of my favorite hidden gems with you.
One of my top recommendations is the Abu Dhabi Falcon Hospital, a unique and fascinating attraction that offers a glimpse into the traditional Emirati sport of falconry. Visitors can learn about the history of falconry, see the state-of-the-art facilities, and even hold a falcon. It’s an experience you won’t find anywhere else in the world.
For art lovers, the Louvre Abu Dhabi is a must-visit, but there are also smaller, lesser-known galleries that are worth exploring. The Etihad Modern Art Gallery, for example, showcases contemporary art from local and international artists. It’s a great place to discover emerging talent and appreciate the vibrant art scene in Abu Dhabi.
If you’re looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, the Al Ain Oasis is a peaceful oasis in the heart of the desert. With lush greenery, shaded walkways, and traditional falaj irrigation systems, it’s a tranquil spot to relax and unwind. Plus, it’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site, making it a must-see for history buffs.
For foodies, Abu Dhabi has a diverse culinary scene with plenty of hidden gems to discover. One of my favorite spots is the Lebanese Flower, a small, family-owned restaurant that serves up delicious Lebanese cuisine. The shawarma is a must-try, and the friendly atmosphere makes it a great place to enjoy a meal with friends.
